Wednesday 16th. Annual Rowan Hamilton Walk

  • The staff and students of the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at Maynooth University and members of the general public are invited to retrace the steps of Rowan Hamilton from Dunsink Observatory to Broome Bridge on the Royal Canal to mark a famous day in the history of science and mathematics.
  • Walkers are expected to be at Broom Bridge at 3.00pm

Sunday 20th. Enfield Royal Canal Annual Walk; Fureys, Moyvalley to Enfield

  • Walkers will depart Fureys at 2.30pm and proceed to the Bridge House Enfield where refreshments will be served.
  • Transport from the Bridge House, departing at 2.00pm to Fureys has been arranged for those who wish to  park in Enfield prior to the walk
  • The walk is just over 6Km all are welcome and the route is wheelchair friendly

Friday 22nd. Royal Canal Amenity Group; Annual Commemoration Mass

  • The mass will take place in St. Mochtas Church Porterstown Road, Castleknock at 10.00am
  • Mass will be followed by a Wreath laying at Porterstown Bridge. All are welcome

December

Friday 27th. Royal Canal Maynooth; Christmas Jumper Walk 

  • The guided walk takes place on Friday the 27th December and will kick off from Maynooth Harbour at 11.45 am. The walk will proceed to Maynooth Main street and continue into Carton from where it will join the canal at Pikes Bridge. From Pikes Bridge walkers will follow the canal back to Maynooth where refreshments will be available.
  • Ware your Christmas Jumper as we hope to photo-record the most Christmas Jumpers, but come along ‘jumper-less or not’.
    The route is about 5Km long is wheelchair-friendly and all are welcome
